How did everything start?
The idea of creating a free app for MadeiraGo tourists did not occur immeadiately.
We have been working in the tourism sector for more than 10 years and we are a portuguese tour operator. Over time, our team became a team of professional multinational guides. Our main purpose are individual excursions.
Once, during an individual excursion (during tourism peak season), our clients asked for more than one excursion. However, our guides were fully booked. So, we had to make a big effort to satisfy our clients' request.
It was about that time that we came up with the idea of making it possible to provide our clients with excursions at any convenient time for them, without spending their precious time looking and waiting for a guide.
We came to the conclusion that the mobile format of the excursions is better than other formats, and we created this resource that allows independent travelling. Now, anyone can have as much freedom as possible during the tour, with minimum expenses.
MadeiraGo is an easy and accessible app, which any traveler can use.
Here you can find any guide or audioexcursion for an independent tour.
We think that sometimes it is best to listen to the audioexcursion, and other times it is best to merely read about the tour, especially when walking through the famous Levadas da Madeira, where nature itself says: "Stop, listen to the silence! Forget all your problems and let your soul relax!".
Yet, when you are, for example, walking through the streets of Funchal, nothing stops you from listening the audioexcursion about this old town.
This is why the guides exist, to suggest tours and provide descriptions on everything you see. There are also audioexcursions with a route and stories about interesting aspects you can find during the tour.
